Boo Bash - We Need Your Help!
Our annual Halloween Party is one of the children's favorite events of the year. We will need YOUR help in order to make it a fun, memorable experience for them!
It is time to restock the decorations and refresh the games. In lieu of dessert donations and charging to get in to the event, we are asking that families donate an item that is needed to make the event a success. We have created an Amazon wish list and items range from $4 to $28, with most items around $10. Please visit the link, select the item you'd like to donate, and it will be delivered right to the school! Amazon Wish List
If you'd prefer to donate your time, we welcome that as well! We need volunteers to make this night safe and fun for all! Please check out the Signup Genius and see where you can help out...
LET'S ALL DO OUR PART!
More info to come on the details of the Boo Bash, which will be held on Friday, October 26th, from 6 - 7:30.
We are still in need of a few Room Parents:
1st Grade - Mrs. Seifel
3rd Grade - Mrs. Young
5th Grade - one room parent for the team
If you have a child in one of these classes and would be willing to volunteer, the teachers would appreciate it!
Many teachers have reminded us that there isn't a whole lot for the room parent to do, but that it's nice to have one... and you do not need to be present in class events in order to be a room parent.
Our first box top collection will be next week on Thursday, October 25th. Bring yours in - this actually raises a significant amount of money for our PTA! The freebies team will be counting them on Friday, 10/26, in the cafeteria. If you'd like to join them or find out more about freebies, please just show up or email Edina at email@example.com
Turkey Trot 5K
Please consider helping with the PTA's biggest annual fundraiser - the Turkey Trot! Our awesome chair, Lauren, would love to show you the ropes before she moves on to Glenbrook next year. This is a great role for a pair or group of people to do together.
Email Lauren if you can help out: firstname.lastname@example.org
Library Volunteers Still Needed
Our librarian, Ms. Cornell, is still in need of a few volunteers. If anyone can help out on Wednesday mornings or Thursday afternoons, that would be especially helpful as she does not have classes then and could explain what needs to be done. Please stop by or contact her directly at email@example.com
Thank you for coming to the first PTA meeting! For those of you that couldn't make it, we talked about the Boo Bash, Turkey Trot, in-house field trips, our budget, fundraising, and more. Dr. Nelson answered questions about homework, team teaching, and upcoming Pack Pal events. Don't worry if you missed it - you can always reach out to us for info or with questions. Or, come to our next PTA meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, at 8:30 a.m. in the Library. (We plan to alternate between morning and night meetings to accommodate different schedules!)

Our math specialist, Nancy Moriarty, wanted to share this fun event with you all. Smith College hosts a field day of wild mathematical amusements: mathematical sculptures, mathematical games, a puzzle over 7' high, a puzzle over 20' wide, mathematical origamist Charlene Morrow, mathematical magician Colm Mulcahy, the world's largest balloon octohedron, a walk-in Klein bottle, and much much more. You are invited. It will be incredible. A mathematical fairyland. For all ages (including yours)! Check out: http://www.math.smith.edu/~jhenle/madmath/
